Az I See It....
Teenager fatalities and permanent brain damage are on the increase, due to the 'choking game,' or 'tapping out.' Most Arizona school districts are reluctant to campaign against this activity, fearing giving pointers/more awareness of this 'game.' Districts will, however, speak out against using illegal drugs/alcohol abuse, while continuing to teach Arizona's minimal Math and Science standards, which realistically is all that is necessary to support the burgeoning meth lab industry, and to assess one's Blood Acohol Level for DUI citations. Now - who's brain dead?....Happy 60th Birthday, George W. - but the men in the Red State of Montana are more impressed that Dolly, the first cloned sheep, is celebrating her 10th birthday. Seems she holds more promise for their future!....Four types of Bad Bosses have been identified, by Peggy Klaus, author of 'Brag! The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn Without Blowing It' - Exploders(horrific temper); Charmers(very sweet, until they stab you in the back); Wet Blankets(their motto is 'Can't!); Know-it-alls(demands documentation to disprove his ideas) - but I have identified a 5th type of Bad Boss - the Sissy(afraid to act, or inconsequential.) This type is potentially the most harmful, as chaos in the workplace will ensue, and nothing good can be accomplished. I am sure that you can come up with more Bad Boss types. Let me know, and I will publish them!....The Glendale Union HS District has estimated that it costs approximately $4,000 per ELL student - just to teach them English(and with less than 50% AIMS success rate!) And then the government spends million$ to print everything dual-language, in addition, anyway!....Here we go again - now a University of Utah study has concluded that drivers using cellphones are as dangerous as drug-impaired drivers. The study was based upon observations of 40 drivers - on a driving simulator! Get real, Utah! Go into any live traffic situation, and you can clinically study drivers drinking, eating, fidgeting with electronic devices, using cellphones, putting on make-up, having sex(yeah, really!), trying to learn to read the signs, etc. Hang up and drive!....

This year has been crazy with teenage deaths. I know that for my boys they have had about 3 kids either die or nearly die because of this. It is important to talk and let kids know what is going on out there. My boys were surprised and did not realize that this was happening. Since this happened we have talked more and looked into the signs and my boys are more sensitive to this now. They don't look to much into things but if they suspect something they let me or their father know and we sit down and discuss this. I feel it is important to talk and see if there is a real issue or not. The boys have actually spoken with kids and feel much better to discuss this. They just have a hard time understanding why? Just like the rest of us. But you are right why are we wasting money on things that are not as important. Our kids are our future and we need to communicate with them. Our government also needs to prioritize things and stop worrying about other countries and worry about US. The thing with the ELL students did we not pass that English is the only language. So why are we giving into the other languages. Like my brother once told me when we moved to the United States. "When in the USA, do as the Americans." Why is this so hard to follow? People can adapt, but if we continue to do for these people they will never adapt. It all goes back that our government needs to protect its people. Stop worrying about everyone else.
