The Reel Deal
Click! - starring Adam Sandler, Kate Beckinsale, Christopher Walken and David Hasselhoff
I went to see this film with my good buddy, Howie, and we laughed throughout most of it! Yeah, the slapstick was sometimes corny, the jokes and actions were sometimes mean-spirited, but the plot was consistent and deliberate, the message was clear, and even knowing how the ending may turn out, it was still very entertaining.
The story is a rip-off of The Family Man(Nicholas Cage, Tea Leoni), but it is quite well accomplished, with the addition of a magical universal remote control(so if you couldn't handle the magic mailbox of The Lake House, then skip it!) I did not expect the sequence of events that the remote would cause, but it was quite ingenious, actually! And Kate Beckensale, like Tea Leoni, is very easy on the eyes!
While most critics panned this movie(it's supposed to be entertainment, not Pulitzer!), I would recommend that, while no Oscars are to be had(well, maybe Walken, for Best Supporting? Nah, too small a role, even though he was good!), it is definitely worth at least the matinee price. And if you haven't seen The Family Man(on DVD), that's worth the rental price, too! Click that, Howie!
