The Reel Deal
Invincible - starring Mark Wahlberg, Greg Kinnear and Elizabeth Banks(to be released nationwide on August 25th)
Based on the true-life experience of Vince Papale(Wahlberg), a Philadelphia native who attended an open tryout for the Philadelphia Eagles, in the summer of 1976, which was called for as a publicity move, by then rookie NFL Head Coach Dick Vermiel(Kinnear), in the hopes of assisting the Philly fans to forget about the previous season's woes.
Janet, played by the beautiful Banks, plays Papale's new love interest, after his wife leaves him over continuing domestic struggles, and she makes watching the other actors more bearable. The story, however, is quite good, and this will be the 'feel-good' film of the year. Papale, at age 30, never having played college football, not only makes the team, and then continues for three impressive seasons! The heart of this film is not just Papale, but the people who supported his efforts, the relationships built with love and respect, and the inner drive of a man wanting to better himself, his friends and family, and his community. While everyone will love this film, if you are an Eagles fan, you will soar!
