The Reel Deal

Miami Vice(Rated R) - starring Colin Farrell, Jamie Foxx and Gong Li

Based on the 1980's TV show, starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas?  No way!  I may be experiencing the onset of Alzheimer's, and I was not really a big fan of the TV show, but this film has it all!  Sex, action, violence, special effects - and a plausible plot!
Sonny Crocket(Farrell) and Rico Tubbs(Foxx) are enlisted, by the FBI, to take down a Colombian drug cartel, when an intlligence leak causes a mission failure and several Agent deaths.  Their actions, while not as successful as they had hoped, are certainly believable, as their mission status changes with the actions of the druglords.  Crockett, naturally, acquires a beautiful love interest(Li, who is deeply entrenched in the cartel), and drives the classic Ferrari and a fabulous speed boat, while Tubbs has an Agent love interest(Foxx insisted on 'equal time') and flies planes.
I loved this film, and my son, Michael, thought it was the best film of this genre, that he'd seen in a long time.  We give this film 'two Tubbs up!'
