Az I Play It....
American Floyd Landis, recent winner of the Tour de France, a 21-day bicycle race, has tested positive for steroids. What a story he had been, with an arthritic hip that needs to be replaced - so bad, in fact, that the only thing that he could do is to ride a bike!
At one point in the race, after temporarily leading, he fell eight minutes behind the new leaders, only to miraculously regain the lead, and eventually be crowned the Champ. Now, like MLB's Rafael Palmiero, he has denied knowledge of how this could have occurred, claiming that it is natural and typical for a cyclist's testosterone to be elevated after a race. But, alas poor Yorrick, again like Palmiero, the steroid in question is synthetic - and can only be injected into the body - hence, making up an eight minute deficit! He will probably be remembered as the first American cyclist to be caught doing what Lance Armstrong allegedly got away with for seven years. What's in YOUR wallet?
