Az I See it....

There are a few election items that I must re-emphasize, as we head to the polls on Tuesday.

First, the Propositions:

Prop 201 will ban cigarette smoking in virtually ALL public places, and while the opposition screams that tax dollars will be spent on this - and not on other more important items, such as increased anti-illegal immigration efforts and child welfare programs - they neglect to say that the taxes spent will come directly from cigarette sales(Vote YES on Prop 203 to raise the cigarette tax) - and NOT from general tax funds, as the opposition would like us to believe!  And when was the last time that you saw a smoker with their car windows all the way up?  They do not want to CHOKE to death - why should we???  Vote YES on 201.(Vote NO on Prop 206, which would allow many public places to continue to allow smoking.)

Prop 107 - Government has no right to dictate, and should stay out of, our private lives - isn't this why we have a Constitution and a Bill of Rights?  It wasn't very long ago that women could not vote, Blacks did not have equality under the law, and women did not have a right to an abortion(and they're going after that again, too!), among other rights that were fought for - against government officials wanting to control the masses.  Vote NO on 107 - Equal rights are Equal Rights!

Prop 302 - Every so many elections, politicians and the conservative media complain that the salaries of elected officials must be increased, in order to involve more competition and to reward our hard-working politicos.  Hogwash!!!(Sorry, Prop 204!  Vote NO on that one, too!)  Anyway, I remember when the salaries for Az. State Legislators was only $16K, and we were 'sold a bill-of-goods' that increasing that figure would make for a better Legislature.  But, it has not happened yet!  Money will NOT make for a better brand of Legislator - only a more highly-paid Legislator.  If you want a better Legislature, then make them accountable for their actionsand work to earn their pay - like we must!  Vote NO on Prop 302!

Prop 103 - They want to live here, let them speak the language.  While designating English as Arizona's Official Language will not solve as much of this fiasco as we would like, it is like 500 school administrators locked in a room with the criminal students that they allow back into the classrooms - a start!

Elected Officials:  By voting OUT the ones that have put this State in the sorry condition that it is in, we will send a message to ALL, that they had their chance, and we will vote out anyone who cannot/will not achieve what the electorate has intended!  Jon Kyl says Jim Pederson is a crook.  Pederson says Kyl is a crook.  Ditto for Napolitano/Munsil, Hayworth/Mitchell and Renzi/Simon.  We know that they are ALL crooks - but the incumbent crooks have had their chance, and they blew it!  The ride is over.  Do not give them any additional tokens!
