The Reel Deal

Casino Royale(PG-13, for Violence, Adult Themes) - starring Daniel Craig, Eva Green and Judi Dench

Full of action, espionage and intrigue, this film will make you thankful that 'Bond - James Bond' has returned.  The dialogue sometimes wanders, the action scenes sometimes seem like Chuck Norris re-runs, and the love scenes are 'more sensitive' and non-existent(a serious defect, given Eva Green), but the Bond humor and cunning is still there, so I think that most viewers will be entertained by this episode.

Some things, however, just do not add up.  Casino Royale depicts the original elevation of Bond to 007 Agent status, for MI6, and it is specifically referred to as this , by M(Judi Dench), on several occasions.  Why, then, does everything take place in 2006?  Why is Bond given satellite laptop computers, and other current, common accessories, but there are no other 'gadgets,' a Bond trademark in previous films?  And, finally, will there ever be an 'R-rated' Bond film?  The original integrity of Bond has already been compromised, so please add some sexuality and nudity.  This film would make a lot more money, and the competition would be 'Green' with envy!
