The Reel Deal

The Fountain - starring Rachel Weisz, Hugh Jackman and Ellen Burstyn - Directed by Darren Aronofsky

A visually sensual film, Aronofsky depicts eternal life and love, as he recounts two souls traveling through six centuries of striving to achieve immortality, in their quest to find the Fountain of Everlasting Life.  Though the story moults into what my wife described as 'someone's acid trip,' for a very short time, the majority of this endeavor was quite interesting and alive with action, love, romance and intriguing psychology.

Strong performances by Weisz and Burstyn almost pale, in comparison, to Jackman's portrayal of a scientist attempting to save the life of his beloved, and fulfill the destiny of their souls - and attain his first Oscar nomination!  Without giving away any more, I think you will like this film - I know you will like the acting - if only for an eternity!
