Az I Use It....
Boy, Steve, that was quick! He sent me several web-sites, with refuting responses from major hotel chains, regarding the abuse of returned room keycards. Although I am sure that the hotel administrators must assure us of our privacy, I am not sure that ANY of the 'plausible' responses indicated absolute security!
For example - the Deer Valley School District has asserted that the elimination of future retiree medical benefits has never been discussed as a possible cost-cutting item. In fact, not only has it been discussed (privately - never publicly), but I have been informed, by teachers wanting to retire with some immediacy, that the previous Teacher Agreement had been amended(like small-print, it is there, if you happen to look for it), so that eligible retirees now MUST give at least one-year notification of intent to retire, in order to receive such benefits(doesn't seem fair, because phased-retirement employees DO receive those benefits, even though they ARE retired and accepting ASRS payment benefits!) With rising healthcare costs, more retirees, less items available to cut costs, and other precedent-setting districts eliminating medical benefits for retirees - what's next? And it is NOT just Deer Valley folks - wake up!!!
Anyway, Steve, about the hotel admistration's responses to protecting our safety and privacy - my point is - It's not that I don't trust them - I Just Don't Trust Them!
