Az I Eat It....

Hammerheads Ocean Grill - 6718 W. Deer Valley Road

I chanced my birthday dinner, and should have known better!  NEVER try something new for a special occasion!  While the service was good, the food was just so-so, and the prices were a little high for the quality of the food.  I tried the Shrimp Scampi over linguine.  The shrimp was slightly undercooked.  My Mother had the Seafood Bisque and the Icelandic Cod Fish and Chips.  She had to send it back because the fish and the chips were undercooked(and her coffee was too strong.)  My wife had the stuffed Atlantic Salmon, and while she said it was okay, she also said she would probably not want a return visit.  And my son ordered the New England Clam Chowder.  It did not appear to be from the same New England that is famous for its fare!  A free birthday dessert was offered, but we had had enough!

Final take - you don't need to get hit in the head with a hammer to know that the West Valley still needs a quality seafood restaurant!

I'd have told you ahead of time to not go there if I could. the head executive chef, and part owner, is a horrible person who has had 4 dui arrests, 2 arrests for spousal assault and abuse, and even though he makes a lot of money at this career he still manages to wipe his ex wife's account out by bouncing child support checks. If he spent more time cooking and less time drowning himself in alcohol, he might deliver a better product.
