Are you 'penny-wise and dollar-foolish?' Do you drive an extra mile, or two, to save two cents per gallon of gasoline; or to a much further grocery because one item may be ten cents cheaper? Do the math - you are probably spending more on gasoline and time than you are saving with your supposed thriftness.
And here are three tips to save money: 1. Convert your lighting fixtures to fluorescent bulbs, instead of incandescent. 2. Have a timer installed on your electric water heater, so that it does not heat when unnecessary(it will!) - this appliance can account for one-third of a monthly electric bill. 3. Don't bother paying more for 'cage-free' or 'free-range' eggs, as there are no laws mandating the supposed 'different' treatment of the hens, or their feed, and the cost is typically much higher than others. Consider the breakfast savings 'my treat!'
