Arizonans made a big mistake, in re-electing Sen. John McCain. This neo-ultraconservative is renewing his 'Straight Talk Express,' promoting pro-life and pro-war policies, in stops around the country. No more the moderate Republican that voters had envisioned, and hoped for, we now must paraphrase President Harry Truman - "The Bus stops here!"....How ironic that forty years ago, it was a Democrat(Johnson) forced out of office due to unfavorable war escalation, in Viet Nam. Now a Republican will be lame duck(Iraq War) for the same reasons. History repeats itself, and some never learn the lessons!....President Bush is infatuated with the Yucatan's Mayan ruins, having visited several times, since taking Office. That explains the many trips to Louisiana, and why the ambience is similar!....A NYC thug is being bashed for mugging a 101-year old woman. How could he know? Maybe he thought she was younger. Afterall, his next victim was only 85!....Oprah may have met her match! An African school-for-the-poor is not enough for those chosen - they now want to set some of the rules. Modern conveniences, ie., cell-phones, more e-mail access, etc., proven distractions in American educational culture, are just what her new charges want. Women seeking abortions may soon be mandated to view their unborn fetus, via ultrasound, before being allowed to proceed. Next thing you know, they'll be forced to dress in a Confederate Flag hospital gown!....The Courts again determined marijuana to be non-essential, in easing pain and suffering symptoms of cancer patients. Maybe if they promise not to inhale?....And 1-in-4 college students admitted to consistent binge drinking and drug use, in a recent survey. Parents of these young adults are shirking responsibility by proclaiming their childrens' addictions to be a disease, over which they have no control. Yeah, right! Except that the statistics are the same for middle school students, too!....Home builders report that dual master-bedroom suites are on the increase. With divorce rates at an all-time high, is it "Absence makes the heart grow fonder," or, "Out of sight, out of mind?"
