Az I See It....
This week marks the anniversary dates for many U.S. tragedies, including the Columbine shootings, the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing, the Waco, Texas Branch Davidian suicides, and now the Virginia Tech shootings - as well as April 20th being Adolph Hitler's birthdate. Across the nation(and locally), bomb threats, warnings of impending massacres, and many other misguided hoaxes at schools of every educational level, are perpetrated by students, in an effort to have classes cancelled, or at the very least, to have parents allow their children to miss a day of school. Interviewed parents are aghast at these actions - until it is found to be their child who did it - and then it is 'only a harmless prank, so please don't arrest my Angel!' Only responsible parenting can prevent these situations!....And April 20th is also known as 'Get High Day,' to many young people. So, parents, if your child tells you that he/she is going out to celebrate, in honor of Mother Nature(Earth Day is April 22nd), make sure they are pulling weeds, and not smoking them!....One more blast at poor parenting - there is, again, a local surge in child-drownings. NOTHING is more important in one's life, from the moment your child is born, until the moment you die! Act like it!....The U.S. Congress is seeking another scapegoat, attempting to force the resignation of Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales, when everyone knows that the problem is the Goat! Nixon resigned 34 years ago, over a political burglary cover-up, and Bush is allowed to continue after covering up real reasons for the deaths of more than 3300 GI's!....Iranian weaponry has been confirmed in all areas of Middle East conflict, prompting President Bush to marvel at how he has created a truly global economy!....The U.S. Senate, with pockets overflowing from the more than $20M in campaign contributions from the major pharmaceutical companies, has blocked a vote on a bill which would allow Medicare officials to negotiate prescription drug prices with these same pharmaceutical manufacturers. Actually only two votes short, Az. Sen. Jon Kyl voted 'NO'(block), and Az. Sen. John McCain was conspicuously and conveniently absent - and Arizona is a retiree State. That is taxation without representation!....Once America's most popular truck, Ford F150 fatalities have decreased by fifty percent, in recent years. Better engineering? Not really. Everyone's driving the Toyota Tundra, instead!....Disgraced Rev. Ted Haggard has relocated to Phoenix, from Colorado Springs, and will join the Phx. First Assembly of God Church - the same church that reformed the disgraced Rev. Jim Bakker. It was expected - Phoenix accepted(but not reformed) the NFL's Az. Cardinals, after they were disgraced in St. Louis!
