Az I See It....
President Bush has called for a Mid-East peace conference, with Israel, Palestinians, and some of their surrounding Arab neighbors, in an attempt to establish a Palestinian State, along-side Israel. Commendable, but why not call for a Mid-East peace summit, to include Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, and all of the the surrounding Arab-oil 'neighbors,' in an attempt to stop the Mid-East warring?....CNN's Glenn Beck is no friend of Michael Moore's. Beck, a self-proclaimed conservative, recently bashed Moore's 'Sicko' figures as completely false, and that only two million Americans are without health coverage. Interesting that the federal government just released a report citing the latest determination to be approximately 45 million, with the majority coming from working families - of which 9 million of the uninsured are children - all reflected in Moore's data!....Government reports, at all levels, continue to insist that tap water is just as safe - if not safer - than bottled water. Regardless of safety, most home and restaurant water tastes bad, due to the addition of chlorine and other chemicals, or the lack of them. It may be 'safe,' but people continue to complain that food does not taste as good here, as it does 'back home.' There is your proof! Same ingredients, same recipes, same cooks - and yet the end result does not taste as good. Safe? Where's my bottle?....Teachers are reported to have the lowest rate of drug use, among America's work force, to which 1-in-12 workers admitted. No wonder teachers are so stressed-out! Of course, teachers are also accustomed to not admitting their problems, because, after-all, no one in authority really cares, anyway!....In related news, the Stupid-Intendent of Arizona's public schools has proudly announced that the just-released AIMS scores show improvement, although quite small, for a three-year period, even when comparing ESL students. Remember, the tests have been dumbed-down, and curriculum and instruction have been 'intensified.' The largest gains are in the Writing area, which is subjective, anyway. Way to go, Tom!
