Shopping for a 'big ticket' item(or even a 'small ticket' item), or having home or auto repairs completed?  One should almost NEVER pay for these expenses with cash, debit card, or a check - unless YOU have a specific reason for doing so!  When you pay with your credit card, you guarantee that any problems with satisfactory completion of work, or transaction, is supported by the integrity of your credit card company.  When problems occur, reporting it to your card company(Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, etc.) results in immediate 'stop payment,' until a satisfactory investigation has been completed.  I have never been dissatisfied with the efforts of my credit card companies, but I have made the mistake of paying for services, in cash, that were not properly rendered - but not in very long time!  See - even I learn some things!
