Az I Eat It....

Dominic's Bistro Italiano - 10001 W. Bell Rd.(SW corner of 99th Ave., in the Promenade Center)

This is the place that we've been waiting for, since the early 1990's, when another great restaurant, Angelo's(N. 43rd & W. Bethany Home), went out of business, shortly after the owner passed away.  The food is homemade - and delicious!  The prices are very resonable, the ambience is adjustable, and the waitstaff are friends and family of the owner!  And Dominic is from Buffalo, NY, where he owned several restaurants, many years ago!  I ordered the three-cheese manicotti special, which included a salad, while Linda wanted pizza.  Ah, yes - should have remembered to order 'easy on the cheese, extra sauce,' but if you like cheese, this standard thin-crust pizza will impress!   And the pizza sauce was just as we had remembered.  For dessert, we shared a superbly prepared casada cake, and one slice was plenty!
On Friday and Saturday evenings(8 to 11pm), Dominic provides entertainment, by singing the classics.  If you remember Sinatra's, he was the owner of that establishment, also.  I met Dominic, and his family members, and with all of the reminiscing of Buffalo & Phoenix-past, and friends-in-common, it was an added touch to a great dining experience.  But get there early - the place was packed by 6:30pm, with a long waiting list by 7:00pm.  And who knows for whom Dominic sings?  He sings for me!
