Az I Use It....
-The latest food recall involves millions of pounds of pre-packaged, frozen ground beef. Do what Linda and I do - when you are at the meat counter, select the best cuts, and then give them to the butcher to grind - twice - for hamburger. Sirloin is great, because it is a leaner meat, while chuck is tastier, due to the extra fat content. Grinding it twice makes the meat more tender for cooking. Gound pork is still a crapshoot, as local butchers will not grind it, even when you purchase it from them, but they do sell it pre-packaged 'fresh.'
-Auto insurance companies won't tell you this - but I will - if you have young drivers at home, you can change the primary vehicle assignments so that the more 'risky' driver is placed on a less expensively-insured vehicle - even if the vehicle they are driving is not the same for which they are primarily insured. This could save mega-dollars, annually!
Also, the magic number is three(3) - if you drive less than three miles to work, your premiums will be much less than for more than three miles, but YOU must tell the insurance company; and make sure your designations are correct, ie., if you are 'retired,' your premiums will be much less than if you are not. If you do not work full-time, and you are able, then you are retired, and your premiums should reflect that! Oh, and if you are asked to complete an annual mileage statement for each vehicle - toss 'em. You are not required to disclose that information, and it can cost you big bucks, even if any increased mileage was temporary or incidental. Right, Howie?
