It may soon be less expensive to drink a barrel of crude oil than to drink a gallon of milk(burp!)....It is understandable that President Bush plans to veto a budget that includes an additional $23B for educational and vocational training. The more educated American youth become, the less volunteers he can send to their deaths!....And Bush has promised Turkey's Prime Minister to improve intelligence-sharing, prompting the P.M. to reply, "No thanks - you need all of the intelligence you have left!"....Sen. John McCain is altering his stance on illegal immigration, now favoring stricter enforcement, in order to become more electable. Further proof that he - like most other politicos - cannot be trusted!....There are so many children's toys and games being recalled that it is better to create an IRA account in your kids' names, instead of catering to their childhood whimsy. They may hate you when they're young, but they'll love you when they're adults!(Isn't that how it works anyway?)....Efforts are afoot to dissolve Affirmative Action in Arizona. After not quite 150 years, is it really time to treat both White-Americans and African-Americans as equal Americans?....State officials will soon attempt to undercut Arizona's Prop 13, an initiative to rollback property taxes, because they need the money for numerous unaccountable projects and bureaucracies. Don't let them do it!....Sheriff Joe is being chastised for being $1M over his overtime budget, with more than half of the fiscal year remaining. With the enormity and success of his responsibilities and actions, it seems that his budget is severely underfunded!....The fact that 17 of 22 local Valley school district budget overrides failed is being touted merely as a backlash due to rising mortgages and a slow economy. That may be true of the lesser-educated, but the educated Arizonans are fed up with budget mismanagement and manipulation, which allows teacher salaries to remain stagnant, administrative costs to soar, and academic success to be regarded as insignificant. Meanwhile, Super-Imbecile of Instruction Tom Horne lays blame of the failures to poor community communication. The mirror only reflects what is in front of it - and Horne's vision of Arizona education is much to blame!....Recent surveys indicate that safety-conscious teens are as afraid to drive with their multi-tasking parents as the parents are to drive with their inexperienced, distracted teens. So, you can't wait to let your young teens attempt to control a 2,000 pound motor vehicle, citing convenience and 'maturity?' Shame on you!
