The Reel Deal

No Country for Old Men - starring Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem

Tommy Lee Jones plays a Sheriff investigating the multitude of murders spurred from a drug deal-gone-wrong, by a psychopathic killer(Bardem) looking for his $2M payoff.  While the intent of the plot held promise, it was mutated by the many unsolvable killings, the consistent escape and bullet-riddled recuperation of the main characters, and the often confusing dialog.
Josh Brolin held his own as the hunter that stumbled upon the original crime scene, and then stole the drug money, only to return to the scene that night to offer water to a shooting victim whom he had abandoned, and for whom he somehow felt pangs of conscious.  Yeah, sure!
Jones may well earn an Oscar nod, as his acting was fabulously understated - reminiscent of Robert Duvall's Oscar-winning role in Tender Mercies.  And the ending?  Well, with all of the graphic killing, meditation and introspection - The Sopranos final episode seemed to cry 'copyright infringement!'
Anyway, there should be 'No Money for This Movie!'
