Republican presidential candidates are unanimous in wanting to keep gays out of the military, with the main reason being the potential for loss of morale. What about the multiple, and extended deployments, combined with the substandard equipment, that has cost many GI's their lives? They could at least give an honest and educated reason!....President Bush is determined to drastically cut anti-terrorism funding for states and municipalities. After a recent screening of the latest Fantastic Four film, he figures if they can defeat the Silver Surfer, we must be pretty much protected!....The U.S. Border Patrol must curtail their intent to arrest every illegal border-crosser, estimated at more than 1,000 per day. To avoid over-burdening the justice and prison systems, arrests will be limited to 100 per day. The rest may be shot!....Pope Benedict XVI has issued an encyclical, titled 'Saved by Hope,' in which he strongly criticizes Atheism, saying it has led to some of the "greatest forms of cruelty and violations of justice ever known." Atheist officials responded that they did not believe him!....Daredevil Evel Knievel has made a final, successful jump, to the after-life, dead at age 69!....The much-maligned U.S. Postal Service will be the only delivery service available for Christmas-day delivery!....Wealthy Malibu residents blame U.S. and California agencies for lack of funding to protect and manage forests - leading to the recent devastating fires - but do not offer any of their millions/billions of dollars to assist in the 'cause!'....More than 11,000 children died, in Arizona, in 2006 - one of the highest mortality rates in the nation! The major causes of these deaths were drugs(including alcohol), firearms and motor vehicle accidents. Among the least likely causes of death - love and parental supervision!....Arizonans are still acting like turkeys, with more than 125 DUI, and under-aged drinking citations issued during the Thanksgiving weekend!....Many Valley cities are citing lower-than-expected tax revenues, when planning for major budget cuts. Meantime, economists report income growth in most sectors, and lower savings among workers. So where is all of the money going? Into CEO's pockets?(Nah!)....No smoking in public places; then, smoking in a movie role deems it to be 'R-rated;' then, no smoking in automobiles. What's next? No federal subsidies for tobacco conglomerates? Blasphemy!....Az. Solicitor Gen. Mary O'Grady says anyone legislating immigration law should "exercise caution" - yeah - so just don't hit them in the ass on their way out!....Valley restaurants are beginning to convert to compostable products, and while they may be 25% more expensive, a spokesman added, "If successful, we may begin offering edible food!"....And, an Az. Special Prosecutor has been appointed to investigate crimes against Indian Nation casinos. Where's the Special Prosecutor to investigate crimes by federal, state and local officials, in regards to ignoring illegal immigration laws?
