Az I Teach It....
-School districts, and State officials, estimate that $20M may be necessary for teacher mentors, to assist in training and retaining new teachers. This is just one more - of a long list - of excuses to add administrative positions to the economically challenged payrolls - while designating them to be 'teaching positions.' Not so long ago, school principals were the Instructional Leaders, and not overpaid Building/Site Managers, as they are today. Teachers quit the 'World's Second-Oldest Profession,' after only 3 to 5 years, for several reasons, ie., low salary/benefits, under-appreciation and over-work, marriage and children(75% are women), and lack of administrative support - NOT because they need a mentor to assist them in accepting being assaulted by students, parents and the grocery store!
-A student recently insisted that the computer game he was playing did not contain any violence, as the characters 'are only beating each other!'
-It's the law! - If you change lines(or traffic lanes), the one you were in will start to move faster than the one you are in now!
