The Reel Deal
The Hunting Party(rated R) - starring Richard Gere and Terrence Howard
This film depicts certain actual events in the Serbian/Bosnian War, and plainly states that the most ridiculously portrayed aspects are the ones that are true. I have to admit, if that is the case, then it is worth seeing. Gere plays a major network news reporter who is fired after an excruciating experience, and subsequent on-air meltdown, when network bosses refuse to allow him to expose the truth of the war. His rapid, downward spiral, and attempt to return to network and public credibility are most often incredulous - yet the plot bounces from believable to corny to ridiculous to intense to satisfaction - and many times for each.
If you want to get up early, and spend five bucks on before-noon admission, I think you'll like it. If you want to sleep in, the DVD should be available by February!
