-Cancer patients are twice as likely to die, within 5 years, when they have no health insurance.  They are less likely to be screened, and when late-diagnosed, the disease has usually spread too much to be successfully treated.  The statistics are almost the same for those not able to afford applicable co-pays, medicines, etc., and otherwise delay treatment.  Join AARP's Divided We Fail(DWF) campaign - it may save your life, or the life of a loved one!

-QWEST is offering assistance for low-income consumers, in the form of a one-time installation credit(Link-up - $13.75), and a monthly service credit(Lifeline - $8.06)  Who is eligible?  Those that participate in any one of the following:

Medicaid(AHCCCS)
Food stamps
Supplemental Social Security(SSI)
Federal public housing assisance
Low-income home energy assistance
Temporary assistance to needy families
National School Lunch Program
State Children's Health Insurance Plan(SCHIP, or KidsCare)
