-Analog phone systems will largely be eliminated, beginning in February 2008. No big deal? Already have digital phone service? Think again, Ma Bell lover! If you have a pre-2003 vehicle equipped with On-Star, you will no longer be able to receive service - and that 'older' technology cannot be upgraded, either. If you have a monitored home alarm system, with a battery back up unit, you guessed it - the back-up unit is analog, and must be replaced with a newer, more expensive digital unit, unless it is post-2006, when digital modems were first available for this purpose. So, when was the last time you had a digital examination?
