Az I See It....

-Sir Edmund Hillary, the first explorer to reach the summit of Mount Everest, has gone to an even higher plateau, passing away at the age of 88.

-A renowned Harvard professor has analyzed the effects of illegal immigrants on Arizona's economy, and legal workers came up $1.4B short, in 2005, specifically due to the expanded labor pool - and may have accounted for a larger loss, because publicized government estimates of illegals are unrealistically low, and those workers tend to dominate low-skilled jobs that are typically more prevalent in the Grand Canyon State.  Can't wait for the 2006-2007 stats!

-With one of the country's toughest immigrant worker policy now in effect, reports of illegal workers are very sparse statewide, with the new corporate/government policy being 'Don't ask, don't tell!'

-Here's another feeble Republican attempt at 'democracy,' and another good reason for keeping the primaries open only to registered voters of the affected parties:   Az. State Sen. Jack Harper(R-Surprise) wants to open the up-coming primary to Independents, Republicans, and members of other minority parties.  Registered Democrats would be restricted to the Democratic ticket.  Harper doesn't want Independents to feel 'disenfranchised,' but cares nothing for truth in voting!  Vote your conscience!

-Dale Fushek, the defrocked Catholic pastor of St. Timothy's, in Mesa, Az., is still holding non-denominational services, attended by hundreds of followers.  Fushek awaits trial on charges of misdemeanor sex crimes against minors.  Many of his 'flock' say they simply missed his charismatic preaching.  Maybe the atheists have it right - can you believe it?

-It seems that man is no different than other animal species, as murder rates are soaring worldwide!  The difference being that humans claim to be civilized, while in the lower species, it is extremely rare for wild animals to kill their own offspring!

-Former NBC news journalist Tom Brokaw's latest best-seller, 'BOOM!' is about the 1960's.  Due next year, his sequel, of the 1970's era, titled 'Chug-a-lugga-lugga!'
