The Reel Deal
The Bucket List(rated PG-13) - starring Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman and Sean Hayes
So....Jack Nicholson is a hospital magnate, who learns that he is dying of cancer. Morgan Freeman is a mere mechanic, meeting the same fate. Nicholson is a loner, Freeman a family man. I wanted to love this film - despite its poor critics ratings. Freeman was typically great, and then Nicholson acted the same as he always does - like Nicholson. Then something strange happened. Nicholson quickly developed his character - and became him - and then gave one of his best acting jobs in many years('As Good As It Gets' comes to mind!)
Yes, this was an updated version of 'Grumpy Old Men'(Lemmon and Matthau), but just as worthy! An almost full house of senior citizens were in the majority, when Linda and I saw this film, and they broke into applause as it ended. If you don't see this film, you will have missed a fun, thoughtful, and insightful cinematic pleasure. Oh, and yeah - I loved this film!
