- Let me try to understand this....Sen. Arlen Specter(R-Pa.) wants to hold Congressional hearings on the NFL's 'Spygate' investigation of the NE Patriot's videotaping of the NY Jets, in their first game of the 2007 regular season. Doesn't Congress have ANYTHING more important on their agenda, in this time of war, economic instability, decayed infrastructure, etc? (He must have a large wager on the NY Giants!) No wonder Congress has an 'approval' rating very close to that of President Bush!
- I'm so tired of people saying they prefer the NY Giants because they're from New York. Like their counterpart, the NY Jets, they play their games in New Jersey, and only keep the 'NY' moniker for monetary/advertising considerations. The only NFL team in New York State is the Buffalo Bills!
- I just watched HBO's NFL program detailing the 'Curse of the Cardinals' in relation to the 1925 World Champion Pottsville Maroons. They were stripped of their title after defeating the renowned Notre Dame Four Horsemen team, gaining the wrath of a nation for having done so, and playing the championship game 'outside of allowable jurisdictional boundaries.' The Cardinals declined to acknowledge the vacated, bestowed-upon, ill-gotten championship - that is, until the Bidwill family gained control of the franchise, and quickly assumed the title. They have since - and recently - refused to relinquish the title, and to acknowledge the distinction that belongs to Pottsville. Fascinating!
