Az I Use It....

- Here's the latest consumer rip-off!  I went to my local Basha's Customer Service counter, to cash in two(2) rolls of quarters($10 each) for a twenty-dollar bill.  When the store manager took the two rolls into his 'secret cave,' the clerk told me that he would weigh the rolls, to see if they matched the correct amount.
Imagine my surprise, having just rolled the coins, when the manager emerged from his lair and announced that one roll contained $9.00, while the other held only $8.75!  Mind you, both rolls were filled to normal capacity, and both were of equal length when closed, yet I was told I was as off, in my calculations, as Tom Horne is on an AIMS math test!
When I protested, the manager suggested that he count one roll, as I had already emptied one to count in front of him.  I could have missed one quarter - maybe even one quarter in each roll - but I didn't think so - in fact, I knew that I was correct!  And imagine HIS surprise, when 80 quarters were stacked in twenty groups of four - in front of him!
He appeared shocked, as he claimed that his scale is consistently calibrated, and that each night's coinage receipts are weighed/accounted for in this manner.  He was over-apologetically eager to give me my requested $20 bill - with a flustered two tens - and I am only too eager to alert my readers and their friends to this new method of accounting.  And the same method is now typically used in banks - and includes paper money!
Think about it - if you are worth your weight in money, you may weigh less than you think!
