- Take heart, America! A New York State Appeals Court has ruled the the New York City public schools ban on student cellphons is LEGAL - and warranted! Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and school officials cite the major distraction of the new-tech gadgets, as well as their possible usage for cheating purposes, etc. While detractors argued for the right to maintain parent/student contact, the Court ruled that this pretense was unfounded and unnecessary. It may not be very long before other school systems follow suit! Can you hear me now?
