Az I Play It....
- Good riddance to Suns' Coach Mike D'Antoni. He is almost solely responsible for the Suns being ousted from the playoffs - two years in a row! Last year, in the game that saw Stoudemire ejected for entering the court during a player altercation, the Suns still had the lead, and a chance to win, with mere seconds left in regulation. With a foul to give, D'Antoni did not instruct his players to foul - a strategy that would have tightened the score, but given the Suns the ball with almost no time remaining, and the Suns went on to lose the series. Poor coaching, by anyone's account. Little mention of this was ever pursued. Okay, I get that.
But this year - he did it again - TWICE! Including the game where Tim Duncan hit his first 3-pointer of the season - that sent the game into overtime - another that the Suns lost, when it should have been OVER! He repeated the mistake in another game - another 'sure-win' loss - with just a little better time management strategy from D'Antoni.
Don't blame Shaq, or the trade that lost Shawn Marion(he went down for the season shortly after the trade), and don't blame a lack of team cohesion/style. Blame D'Antoni - as he will be blamed in NY!
- Mike Muscato has gone from catching bullpens for the Somerset Patriots, to catching for the Brockton Rox of the CanAm league. He has been asked to return to the Patriots at the end of his CanAm season, to bolster their run at another Atlantic League Championship! His season begins May 22nd.
