Az I See It....

Prologue:  Obama/Biden - "Change we can believe in!"  McCain/Palin - "Keep believing that we will change!"

International:  Iran's parliament has decided that men must have the permission of their first wife, before being allowed to take another.  In a separate decision, men will not need permission to kill either wife!....Saudi Arabian courts have ruled that it is permissible to kill the promoters of television programs or movies, that present subjects contrary to the teachings of Islam!

National:  Illinois, Arizona, and Washington, DC have some of the highest poverty, homeless, and crime rates in the nation, yet McCain and Obama expect us to believe that they can 'turn this country around.'  Yeah, maybe, if they expect us to bend over, too!....McCain says he fights pork project spending, when he actually only refuses to accept any for Arizona - sending all federal, Arizona tax dollars to other, 'more needy' states!....Palin's press info incorrectly states that she once visited an Iraqi war zone, when in fact, the closest she has been is Baghdad, Arizona!....Have you noticed that Palin pronounces the word 'nuclear' as 'nucular?'  Her tongue must have tripped over her lipstick!....Cindy McCain's RNC speech dress cost approximately $15K(conservatively), while Michelle Obama's cost less than $800(liberally!)....Sgt. Maj. Michael Delacroix, a highly decorated Iraqi War serviceman, with a 22-year Army career, was posthumusously stripped of all military honors, and given a dishonorable discharge, with his cause of death being changed from 'sniper fire while attempting to save an Iraqi boy,' to 'AIDS.'  President Bush signed this decree in a White House Rosegarden ceremony, after Delacroix was outed, as being a gay man!

State/Local:  A $1B resort/convention complex will be built in Mesa, Az., including a golf course, hotels, restaurants, amusement areas, and parks, ensuring a thriving Mexican economy!....Arizona may face actions to raise the minimum driving age to 17 or 18, from the present 15 or 16.  While statistics show that 'with age comes responsibility,' and a much lower teen-driving death rate, detractors insist 'practice makes perfect, at any age' and will fight any proposed changes.  As one parent, whose teens are expected to do many family errands that require driving, said, "At least we may get two good years out of 'em!"....A recent study found no significant link between childhood vaccines and the autism, indicating that the prior recreational drug usage of autistic people's parents, as well as poor genetic selection, may be the only causes for their disability!....Phoenix tumbled from its 2007 4th place ranking, to 32nd in 2008 - on a list of America's top performing cities.  Cities are ranked by short- and long-term job, wage and salary, and technology growth.  The downturn in housing and construction were the main causes of the rapid descent.  On the bright side, the League of American Bicyclists ranks Arizona 3rd, for being a bike-friendly city!....Phoenix now has one of the highest rates in America for stolen bicycles!

Epilogue:  Why is the abortion of a fetus, or an embryo(for stem cell research), so abhorable to Republican right-wingers, but the abortion of an 18-year-old's life, in the Armed Forces(for defense of U.S. oil supplies), is perfectly acceptable?

As I travel throughout the nation, I notice a big difference in the local economies of the cities that I visit. I'm not sure how that will continue to play out in the future, but I see lots of people moving around in search for a better economy to find work.
