If you liked The 40-Year Old Virgin, you'll love this Carell effort - another heartwarming, romantic comedy. Carell is Dan Burns, a newspaper columnist/widower, with three young daughters, who meets his soulmate - who happens to be dating his younger brother.
While the predictable plot has been done before, in some way or another, Carell does it well, having the viewer laugh through empathy and understanding of a typical American family's life tribunals. This film did not fare well on the big screen, going against blockbusters such as Dark Knight and Iron Man, but it has found its niche on DVD and Blue Ray. So, go ahead - get a life!
