Az I Use It....
- 'It takes money to make money.' Here's a great way to use your hard-earned money to get some of it back, and assist some very worthwhile organizations as well! As the end of 2008 approaches looms, there are several Arizona Tax Credit programs hat let you take a dollar-for-dollar credit. Not a deduction - a CREDIT! Example: If you owe $400.00 to the state, and you have contributed $400.00 to one of these programs, you would owe nothing. And you would get money refunded, if you've paid too much through payroll deductions! Here are my favorite three:
Arizona Public School Tax Credit - $200 for an individual, or $400 for a married couple, filing jointly. This must be donated to a public school extra-curricular program. Many sports teams, etc., depend on these contributions.
Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit - $500 for an individual, or $1,000 for a married couple filing jointly. If you know any private school attendees(not your own children, but you could 'buddy-up' with another family), you may be able to reduce tuition expenses while significantly reducing your tax obligation.
Arizona Military Family Relief Fund - $200 for an individual, or $400 for a married couple filing jointly. This fund supports the families of military personnel who have been injured or killed in combat.
