La Piazza Al Forno - 5803 W Glendale Ave., in historic downtown Glendale!
Well, this place is receiving a lot of buzz, lately, in many news and television outlets. Can this be the real Italian restaurant that Phoenix has been craving? Good food AND good prices? Throw in clean silverware and friendly service, and you've got a winner! Linda and I finally went 'downtown' to try to find this combination of rarities - and we did! Specializing in wood-fired, brick-oven specialty pizzas and your favorite homemade Italian entrees, the food IS great(and filling), the prices ARE affordable, the silverware IS clean, and the service IS friendly! And the desserts - you've got to try the homemade cheesecake, with raspberry and/or chocolate sauces drizzled over it. It is scrumptious and melts in your mouth!
This is a family story that began in New Jersey and continues in Arizona - and I have only one complaint - that
La Piazza Al Forno is not located closer to where I live! If you're anywhere in Glendale, stop in. And make it a point to be somewhere around Glendale when lunchtime or dinnertime rolls around! Mangia!!!!
