- The Arizona Legislature is re-examining its license plate laws, and may soon change the existing mandate to be a 'secondary offense,' meaning police cannot stop you if that is your only traffic violation, and the subsequent fine would be lowered to only $20 or $30, instead of the current $135. Yeah, right! Then they'll cite everyone!
- And speed camera laws continue to be a volatile subject, statewide! Maricopa County Attorney, Andrew Thomas, says he will not prosecute supposed criminal speeding(20mph +), because it would be unconstitutional, as the law is presently written. Attorney General Terry Goddard disagrees, but concedes it is Thomas' call! The speeding will continue to be prosecuted the same as all other camera-issued citations, however!
- Do you know someone who is unable to afford proper eye care? Contact the Kiwanis Club, or the Lions Club. They typically offer free examinations and eyeglasses to people who could not otherwise afford them.
