Az I AARP It....
- At the most rcent AARP Chapter #1 meeting, Stu Starky gave great insight on the effects of Arizona state budget cuts on the public school classrooms, and suggested everyone contact their legislators - immediately and insistently! Thanks, Stu!
- Chapter #1 President Arky Muscato and Youngtown Mayor Michael LeVault declared March 6, 2009 to be Anita Russell Day, in commemoration of Anita's devoted service to our Chapter. She announced that she will be moving to Lincoln, Ca., sometime after the April 3rd meeting. Our loss is their gain!
- Allie Bowling, a humorous and motivational speaker, will present at the next Chapter #1 meeting - April 3rd!
- The Youngtown Cultural Fair will be Saturday, April 4th(10am to 1pm), and Chapter #1 will have a table to encourage membership, and to promote upcoming activities for the Chapter #1, State, and National AARP!
- The 4th Annual Shred-a-Thon will be on Saturday, April 18th, at Youngtown's Clubhouse Square,
from 8am to 12noon, and will be co-sponsored by the Agua Fria Ranch development, Town of Youngtown, and the Az Attorney General's Office. The Youngtown Kids Council and the Sun City Sheriff's Posse will provide additional volunteers. A $1.00 fee/per business-sized box or bag, is requested, and there will be a shredder on site to dispose of your unwanted valuable documents!
- The next general meeting of AARP Chapter #2307 will be on Monday, March 16, at 10am, in the Devonshire Community Center, N. 21st Street and E. Devonshire(just north of E. Indian School Rd.)
