International: Improvised explosive devises(IEDs) are among the biggest problems in Iraq and Afghanistan, cause the most deaths for American military forces, and the U.S. is 'actively seeking ways to more effectively counteract them.' How about dropping a nuclear bomb, after relocating friendly influences?....North Korea is executing Christians, and while the world watches, only economic and political sanctions are being utilized to challenge this as yet small-scale ethnic cleansing. Remind you of anything?....Succumbing to world protest, Afghanistan marital law has been changed, so that it is now legal for women to say 'NO' to having sex with their husbands - previously punishable by death! Subsequent rape would be a crime. An addendum to the law makes 'tattling on one's husband' an offense punishable by death!
National: Despite a worldwide recession economy, and much-lowered generic drug prices, major pharmaceutical corporations are declaring billions of dollars in profits for the second quarter of 2009. Feeling better?!....Four years after-the-fact, the Office of Homeland In-Security(Janet who?) has released a 79-page report(costing untold millions) concluding that FEMA did not act fast enough to complaints of formaldehyde gases in trailers given to victims hurricanes Katrina and Rita. FOUR YEARS LATER! Thanks for that , Janet. You're a gas!....Why are Black and Latino comedians allowed to spew racial epithets at Whites, but if White comedians return the salvo, it is racist?....The annual Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo requires all reporters and photographers to dress like cowboys, so that 'everyone looks like they belong there!' Damn socialist cowboys!....No socialized medicine for Americans? If it's such a bad idea, then why do we force our veterans into such a poorly-run government medical program? They deserve better! And the American people do NOT want socialized, VA-style medical care. They want the same as Congress receives - full medical care, paid for by the taxpayers! What's good for the goose is good for the gander!....Sarah Palin has left her position as Governor of Alaska to to act as stand-in for Tina Fey, saying, 'It pays better!' Actually, she heard that the National Trucking Association has finally agreed to mandate its fleets to use engine governors, and feels she may have an easier time, if she she gets one of those jobs!....Scientists claim even maintaining a healthy weight may not be enough, and eating even less is good for all. A separate study shows that 'dollar' and 'value meal' pricing is contributing to a rise in obesity, despite a recession economy which would typically indicate the reverse!
State/Local: The Arizona Diamondbacks are doing their part to show everyone how to conserve energy, as they have given up on anything but lackluster, unenergetic performances. The fans deserve better!....Homeland Security Defector Janet Napolitano is attempting to stymie Maricopa County Sheriff Arpaio, by not allowing him to arrest illegal immigrants until they have committed a local crime, instead of merely the federal crime of illegal entry! She knows that an extremely disproportionate percentage of Arizona crimes are committed by illegals. Lock your doors. Lock and load your guns!
Epilogue: The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard!
