- Is it merely coincidence that the Madden 2010 NFL game includes Bret Favre as quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, or were they taking an educated, hopeful guess? Or was the 'deal' already made? It debuted on the first day of exhibition games, when Favre was still adamantly retired. Good catch, Arky2!
- Az Cards back-up QB, Mat Leinart put up some impressive numbers in the exhibition game vs. the GB Packers. But statistics do not tell the truth. What is wrong with Leinart? While zips passes of less than 20 yards, he floats everything longer - leading to the two interceptions, which offset his three TD passes. His receivers gained much of his 300+ yards with runs after-the-catches, but his lack of confidence and conviction on long passes will be his downfall. And he still makes bad choices when he is under pressure. If anything happens to Kurt Warner, it'll be time to trade for Favre!
The Cardinals defensive secondary is still terrible. I may revise my Won-Lost projection downward - like my already dislike for owners Bidwill, who recently decided there will be NO tailgating during or after games! Instead of reveling in Cards game escapades, they want fans to spend more time in exit lines - to GET OUT! What a difference a season makes - maybe if fans stayed home - no more sell-outs - the Bidwills would remember how life used to be. C'mon, Bidwills - it's time to punt!
- The hearings continue on the sale and possible relocation of the NHL Phoenix Coyotes hockey franchise. Coyote fans came in droves to support their hometown team. Both fans said they would miss them!
