- The WNBA Championship Game, between the Phoenix Mercury and the Indiana Fever has 7,000 FREE upper tier tickets available - courtesy of NBA Phoenix Suns players Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, and Grant Hill. All one needs do is go to the US Airways ticket office and ask for them! What a great show of support for the team and their fans!
- The NFLs Arizona Cardinals are again on ther verge of not having their game sold out, meaning the NFLs television blackout rule would prevent the game(v. Houston) from being shown live on local TV(CBS 5). With les than 1,000 tickets remaining, league officials granted the Cards a second consecutive extension - until 1:15pm Friday - to sell the remaining tickets. The team is hoping CBS would buy the remainder of the tickets, because they would benefit from advertising revenues. The fans are hoping the wealthy owners/players would show a gesture of goodwill(evidently NOT Bidwill), purchase the tickets - and donate them to charity!
Why are sellouts harder to come by these days? The economy has tanked as badly as the Cardinals; ticket prices increased; and people's spending priorities have been altered. Head Coach Whisenhunt insists that fan loyalty has contributed to the success of the team. He should now convince the Bidwills that fan loyalty is not misplaced!
