- AARP Chapter #1 will hold its annual elections at this Friday's general membership meeting(Nov. 6th), preceded by our Thanksgiving dinner. Membership dues($5 annual) for 2010 will be accepted at this time, and new members are always welcome! For more info, call Arky Muscato @ 623-362-0605
- The 51st Annual AARP National Convention, Las Vegas @ 50+, was a great success! Packed with information and education, approximately 25 thousand members attended the 3-day event, at the Sands Exposition Center. Faith Hill capped the event with 1 1/2 performance that solidifies her as the 'Queen of Country Pop,' with an array of songs from her own standard hits to Aretha Franklin and ABBA. The difference in the sold-out crowd, compared to their younger days, was evident due to the aroma of Ben Gay(not MJ), and many left because they were tired, or the sound was too loud for their hearing aids! Oh, yeah - and instead of mosh pits, the floor was littered with prune pits!
