Extra-Special People
Lucille Retheford - May 21, 1922 - December 12, 2010
Lucille Retheford was laid to rest today, with a celebratory service in Peoria, Az. Lucille was a cornerstone of the Town of Youngtown, Az. - America's very first retirement community - being a member of the Town Council from 2001 to 2009; and a longtime advocate member of AARP, including holding elective offices in AARP Chapter #1.
A believer in 'doing right' for its own sake, and not compromising for the benefit of a few, Lucille was instrumental in the development of Youngtown and the west valley metro-Phoenix region. Lucille will be missed for her wit, wisdom, and personal integrity. A true character with true character - what a novelty, in these difficult times. Yes - Lucille will be missed - but never forgotten!
