International: In this age of global communication abilities, it is only a matter of time before people of all oppressed countries(ie., Egypt, Iran, etc.) demand the freedoms which much of the world experiences and values!....
National: Most major corporations and businesses are reporting unprecedented economic growth, for the previous four quarters, sending profits soaring. Only employment statistics remain down, as these companies begin to hoard the riches for themselves and stockholders!....NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell(annual $10M salary), and Chief Negotiator Jeff Pash(annual $5M salary) have promised to accept a mere $1.00 salary, if there is a lock-out in March. I wonder if they could afford this more-than-gallant salary adjustment, since they probably have little in reserve to support their families!....The Labrador Retriever is again recognized as the most popular dog in America - for the 20th consecutive year - closely followed by the German Sheperd, Yorkshire Terrier, and American Idol's Randy Jackson(you Dawg!)
State/Local: Arizona, a conservative linchpin, is about to enact the most liberal gun laws in the nation, allowing citizens(and non-citizens?) to carry guns, concealed and open, to every place they would like - that is every place but where they seem to be most necessary, nationally - K - 12 public schools!....Phoenix-metro area housing prices are still slumping. It is still a better economic move, for many, to reside in their '69 VW buses, than it is to own a house!....Once again, lawmakers will attempt to legislate common sense, as Rep. Jim Weiers proposes to mandate restraints for children riding in pick-up truck beds. Similar laws have been attempted previously, and this will suffer the same fate - common sense ain't too common around these parts!....The posturing has already begun, as newly-elected Attorney-Disinterested Tom Horne recused himself from investing his friends(Tom Boone, Ted Carpenter, Jim DiCello) in the alleged Valley Schools Management scandal, citing conflict-of-interest issues. Actually, Mr. Horne, the only real conflict-of-interest(not your perceived interest) would exist if you were somehow involved in their proceedings - not solely because you were one-time colleagues.(Will Horne decline to investigate Sheriff Arpaio, also, since they were both elected Arizona officials?)

The concept of a "reverse" mortgage seems oxymorinic. You are basically conveying your home, paying fees, and getting a cash stream. At the end of the day, there is nothing left in the value for your heirs or for charity.
