Extra-Special People
Philip Dello Russo is now playing golf on course that is spectacularly designed, and with the abilities that he once utilized as a younger man. I'm betting his first drive went for a hole-in-one, no matter how long the hole!
At approximately 2:00pm(Phoenix time), Phil passed from this world to his final rendezvous in Heaven. Once characterized as being a cockroach(you can't kill 'em), as opposed to a cat(nine lives - Phil had more!), we now know that it takes more than 79 years to kill a cockroach! And, as fate would have it, at the exact time of his passing, there was a radio commercial about a pesticide company killing cockroaches - go figure!
One thing not many knew about Phil was that he was one of the original U.S. Army Rangers - dating to 1950-51, serving in Korea, during that War. My son, also a U.S. Army Ranger, had a great talk with Phil, recently, just before leaving for Germany to train his platoon for deployment to Afghanistan. Theirs was mutual admiration and story-telling.
Such a generous and benevolent man is very rare - even donating his body(minus quite a few previously removed organs, etc.) to science, so as to further benefit mankind. Phil will be missed by all who knew him, and by those that were unknowingly affected by his life. He will live on, as PJ, in this blog, which he thoroughly enjoyed - especially the PJ jokes. Lord, keep him safe, get him distance on his strokes(another later, favorite plaint), and encourage others to model their benevolence after him. Bye, Buddy!

Phil or PJ as some of us called him, was my brother. He was much older so as i was growing up he was my mentor, my friend, my advisor. He was more than anyone could ask for in a brother. He had many businesses and moved around alot. his wife carol by his side for the last 45 years of his life. AZ was his final resting place where he made friends as he did where ever he went. So many of his friends became my friends, as they all loved him and his unique ways, more direct than most, but always effective. He taught me how to work hard and be the best i could be, he believed in me and made me strong. He loved my wife and my children very much(especially my wifes cooking) God, he loved to eat good food. Iknow he is resting peacfully and as his friend Arky says, he is playing Golf, which by the way he taught me many years ago and its become a passion. I love you Phil for all you have done for me. I miss you big brother and love you always. Your little brother Bob.

I’ve not too long ago started a blog, the information you provide on this site has helped me tremendously. Thanks for all your time & work.
I have to admit that I sometimes get bored to read the entire thing but i feel you add some value. What i find difficult is to find a blog that can seize me for a minute but your weblog is different. Bravo!
