- The All Arizona School Retirees Association - (AASRA) has awarded its 2011 Outreach Award to Archangel(Arky) Muscato, for community service in both the public and private sectors. Muscato, on the AASRA Executive Board as the Special Projects Liaison, has coordinated assistance for the Valley View Community Food Bank, Deer Valley Middle School(DVUSD), the Arrowhead Kiwanis Club(Peoria, Az), the Peoria and Surprise Regional Chambers of Commerce, AARP Arizona, and AARP Chapter #1, of which he has been President since March 2007.
AASRA is a branch of the National Retired Teachers Association(NRTA.) NRTA was the first organization created by Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus(1947), who later created the American Association for Retired Persons(1958) - now know as AARP.
